New Patients

We understand that many people do not enjoy visiting a dentist and for some it can be an overwhelming experience. It is our aim to manage your concerns and anxieties and during your first-time visit we will put you at ease and make you feel as relaxed as possible.

What to expect on your first visit...

The dentist will perform a complete oral examination and discuss any treatment you may need. The examination can identify conditions such as tooth decay, periodontal disease and even oral cancer. We may need to take some radiographs (x-rays) to further investigate your teeth (with your consent).

You will be presented with a printed treatment plan which includes your treatment costs. If at any point changes are required in this plan we will update you with any changes in costs. You will also see our Patient Care Co-ordinator.

Our Patient Care Co-ordinator will sit down and go over every aspect of treatment with you. She will explain why the treatment is necessary, how long it will take, what is involved and the cost. You will be seen in a comfortable and private environment to make you more relaxed and will encourage you to ask any questions or discuss your concerns.

All of our New Patients see our Patient Care Coordinator if she is available before their appointment and after. This enables new patients to raise any issues before seeing the dentist. You can also see our Patient Care Coordinator without being a patient if you are nervous and want to get familiar with the practice before registering with us!

Cancellation & Missed Appointment Policy

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice for any changes to your appointments is required. Missed or failed appointments mean that other patients cannot be seen and lead to higher charges.

To reduce this Affinity Dental Care & Implant Centre has a strict policy of charging for missed or failed appointments.

We may also request a deposit for long appointments. It is the practice policy to charge our patients a fee for any missed / late cancelled appointments to cover the practice operating expenses.

The fee charged is £90 per hour and is based on the length of the appointment missed.
